“Everything resolved?” she asked.

Ben nodded and walked over to her.  “Everything is resolved, dear,” he said, then put his arm around Tilda and turned.  “I’ll go get the luggage.”  He paused to glare at Tabitha.  “He’ll be sleeping in the guest room, Tabby.  You’ll be in your old room.”  He waggled a finger in her direction.  “And I’m a light sleeper.”

That was a lie, she thought.  Her father not only slept like a rock, he snored throughout the whole night.  Her mother had to wear ear plugs to block out the sounds.

“But…what did you guys talk about?” she asked, her eyes moving from Ramzi to her dad’s, then back again, terrified of what might have been discussed.  “I should really explain what’s going on.  We’re not really…!”

Ramzi stepped closer and kissed her, then took the pan of now-cooled cookies out of her hands, setting it on the top of the stove.  “Everything is resolved.  He understands the whole situation.”

“Everything?” she squeaked, her lips still tingling from that kiss.

Ramzi walked over to her and…without even a hesitation…kissed her again, lingering this time.

“Everything,” he replied, his voice deeper.  Sexier.  “Don’t worry.  It’s all resolved.”
