I have this air fryer and use it ALL THE TIME!  I love it!  The air fryer is a really great way to make foods that are healthier and just taste better!  For lunch, I sometimes make sweet potato fries (lots of potassium and fiber – plus, they are DELICIOUS!) .  I’ve made some of the juiciest chicken in this baby – although I can cook a max of three large breasts at once, which is about five servings.  Oh – and roasted chic peas!  These are the best!

Roasted Chic Pea Recipe:
1-2 cans of drained, rinsed chic peas
1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
McCormick’s cajun, low sodium spice nux
Frank’s Hot Sauce (depends on your heat level)
Cover the chic peas in the olive oil.  Then sprinkle with the cajun spice, lightly or more, depending on your preference.  Then douse them with a bit of hot sauce.  Spray the air fryer pan with cooking spray and dump the chic peas in.  Cook for 20 minutes at 270 degrees.  Shake them up at the end of this first 20 minutes.  Test them.  If they are crunchy, then you’re done.  If not, put them in for another 5-10 minutes, or until they are to your crunch level.  Personally, I prefer them very crunchy, so I’ll put them in for another 20 minutes.
I’d tell you how long these will keep in an air tight container, but I don’t know.  I make these crunchy treats and they are generally gone within a day or two.
You can use this same recipe for kale.  I know – ick!  I don’t eat it myself, but I can make crunchy, spicy kale – the entire package (I remove the hard “spine” and tear the kale into bite sized pieces).  My kids and husband will eat the kale like popcorn!  It’s gone within 30 minutes.
So if you’re trying to find ways to get more healthy foods into your diet, these two options are GOLD!

If you’re looking for a fascinating non-fiction read, check out Malcolm Gladwell’s “Blink”. I just finished reading this one for my book club and absolutely loved it! The details and examples are fascinating – and tell us so much about how we think and why we react to certain situations. It’s a revealing look into our subconscious.

Need a mental kick in the butt? Need to set some new goals…and actually achieve them? GET THIS BOOK! In “You are a BadAss”, Jen Scicero explains how we hold ourselves back and how we can give ourselves a kick in the butt. She does it with humor that had me laughing out loud – and setting newer and more challenging goals! I loved this book so much that I bought a copy for both my son and daughter for Christmas.

Before you cringe at the price of this leave-in hair conditioner, let me first explain that I went to the salon and the stylist commented about the great condition of my hair. To understand what a shock that was to me – I don’t do much to take care of my hair. Before I started using this product, I had a different stylist try and explain how to care for my hair more carefully. Yep, I’m that rough on my hair. The only thing that has changed with my hair care routine is that I spray “It’s a 10” on after the shower and my hair is seriously soft! Because I’m so cheap, I tried a less expensive brand. But nothing worked as well as this stuff does! It’s shockingly good!

When I first heard of eye lash serum, I thought it was a hoax. Seriously? Why would anyone spend money on this kind of snake oil?! Now hear me out…the product description says that it will make your lashes crazy long. Honestly – it didn’t. At least, not for me. Without mascara, my eyes still look like beady little eyes and one would think I didn’t have any eye lashes at all. But after using this product for about three weeks, my eye lashes still looked the same length without mascara, but as soon as I put mascara on – my eye lashes actually looked fake! They were so crazy long – I almost took the mascara off. But wow – it was super cool to have that kind of long lash thing going! And without the creepy, gross lash glue that is needed for false lashes.

Warning: If you have sensitive skin, you might want to hold off on this product. I love it – but some people might not.

You know how much I hate wrapping gifts! So I mentioned that I was going to hit the dollar store and pick up several of their one dollar gift bags because it is so easy to simply wrap the present in tissue paper and dump it into the bag versus all of the cutting, folding and taping with traditional gift wrap.

My son”s girlfriend nodded and said, “And they are reuseable, so that’s better for the environment!” Shazaam! I hadn’t even gone down that road, but she’s right! All of the gift wrap that we use each year is a one time use thing. Whereas the gift bags can be used over and over again. My sister-in-law and I had a gift bag that we jokingly used about six different times.

So using gift bags is faster, easier, cheaper and good for the environment. Just pack those babies away and use them over and over again. Less waste!
