I have this air fryer and use it ALL THE TIME!  I love it!  The air fryer is a really great way to make foods that are healthier and just taste better!  For lunch, I sometimes make sweet potato fries (lots of potassium and fiber – plus, they are DELICIOUS!) .  I’ve made some of the juiciest chicken in this baby – although I can cook a max of three large breasts at once, which is about five servings.  Oh – and roasted chic peas!  These are the best!

Roasted Chic Pea Recipe:
1-2 cans of drained, rinsed chic peas
1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
McCormick’s cajun, low sodium spice nux
Frank’s Hot Sauce (depends on your heat level)
Cover the chic peas in the olive oil.  Then sprinkle with the cajun spice, lightly or more, depending on your preference.  Then douse them with a bit of hot sauce.  Spray the air fryer pan with cooking spray and dump the chic peas in.  Cook for 20 minutes at 270 degrees.  Shake them up at the end of this first 20 minutes.  Test them.  If they are crunchy, then you’re done.  If not, put them in for another 5-10 minutes, or until they are to your crunch level.  Personally, I prefer them very crunchy, so I’ll put them in for another 20 minutes.
I’d tell you how long these will keep in an air tight container, but I don’t know.  I make these crunchy treats and they are generally gone within a day or two.
You can use this same recipe for kale.  I know – ick!  I don’t eat it myself, but I can make crunchy, spicy kale – the entire package (I remove the hard “spine” and tear the kale into bite sized pieces).  My kids and husband will eat the kale like popcorn!  It’s gone within 30 minutes.
So if you’re trying to find ways to get more healthy foods into your diet, these two options are GOLD!

  • Ladies – if you have a painting job to do – this little baby is a must-have! I sprayed water sealer on my deck and it took me about 5 minutes to cover the entire deck. I was standing there, stupidly looking at the beautiful deck, wondering, “What do I do now?!” I put down three more coats – so in total, it took me about 30 minutes to seal the whole deck and that included cleaning the machine. I spoke to a friend who painted the bannister of their front porch. it took them all week to hand paint those spokes. I did my whole front porch bannister (three coats of paint – about 18 feet and 66 spokes) in 2.5 hours! Plus – the sprayer finish is 1000 times better, neater, cleaner than any kind of hand painting! There are no messy clumps of paint anywhere and it really seems to make the paint last longer! I can’t imagine using a paint brush again. This little baby is just so easy to use, even on trim work. And clean up really is shockingly easy!

Bissel Crosswave – vacuum and mop combined.
Holy cannoli this is the best product ever! I actually bought one about two months ago, but I didn’t post this product because I wanted to make sure that it was good enough. IT IS! This thing is AH-maayzing! I know the picture of the dirty water is gross, but I posted that just to show you how much dirt it picked up. Now, that might be a testament to how good the machine is, or it might just reveal how dirty my floors are. Either way, I love this thing! Seriously, you no longer need to sweep the floor before mopping! This thing does it all at once!

If you’re looking for a fascinating non-fiction read, check out Malcolm Gladwell’s “Blink”. I just finished reading this one for my book club and absolutely loved it! The details and examples are fascinating – and tell us so much about how we think and why we react to certain situations. It’s a revealing look into our subconscious.

Need a mental kick in the butt? Need to set some new goals…and actually achieve them? GET THIS BOOK! In “You are a BadAss”, Jen Scicero explains how we hold ourselves back and how we can give ourselves a kick in the butt. She does it with humor that had me laughing out loud – and setting newer and more challenging goals! I loved this book so much that I bought a copy for both my son and daughter for Christmas.

I know – more healthy stuff!  More granola crap!  But again – just hear me out.  I used to get the $20 bag of protein powder from Costco.  That powder used to make great protien shakes.  On a fluke, I substituted chia seeds for my protien powder.  Wow!  It’s not the same – but it’s really good!  And what’s more chia seeds are a powerhouse of health.  The mayan warriors used to eat chia seeds prior to battles because it gave them endurance and strength:  https://www.doctoroz.com/blog/chia-ancient-super-secret
So instead of the chemically protien powder, I put one or two tablespoons of chia seeds into my fruit shake and that thickens it up perfectly!  Plus – chia seeds are an amazing source of omega oils and healthy fiber.  https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods/chia-seeds

I usually struggle with the “long wear” lipsticks – and even this one doesn’t last the full 8 hours (I know – it says “up to” 8 hours). But it lasts a good three or four hours, which is significantly better than my other lipsticks. What’s more, this stuff is creamy, so it doesn’t give you the chalky, dried out feeling that the other “long lasting” lipsitcks give me. Also, those other “long-wear” lipsticks mean that you have to put that slimy glycerin stuff on your lips instead of chapstick. This stuff allows me to put chapstick on when I need it. Now it will wear off throughout the day – but it’s much better than anything else I’ve tried. Also, it’s easier application. I love the “crayon” like applicator versus those fuzzy things that the others have. Lots of good colors too!

Before you cringe at the price of this leave-in hair conditioner, let me first explain that I went to the salon and the stylist commented about the great condition of my hair. To understand what a shock that was to me – I don’t do much to take care of my hair. Before I started using this product, I had a different stylist try and explain how to care for my hair more carefully. Yep, I’m that rough on my hair. The only thing that has changed with my hair care routine is that I spray “It’s a 10” on after the shower and my hair is seriously soft! Because I’m so cheap, I tried a less expensive brand. But nothing worked as well as this stuff does! It’s shockingly good!

When I first heard of eye lash serum, I thought it was a hoax. Seriously? Why would anyone spend money on this kind of snake oil?! Now hear me out…the product description says that it will make your lashes crazy long. Honestly – it didn’t. At least, not for me. Without mascara, my eyes still look like beady little eyes and one would think I didn’t have any eye lashes at all. But after using this product for about three weeks, my eye lashes still looked the same length without mascara, but as soon as I put mascara on – my eye lashes actually looked fake! They were so crazy long – I almost took the mascara off. But wow – it was super cool to have that kind of long lash thing going! And without the creepy, gross lash glue that is needed for false lashes.

Warning: If you have sensitive skin, you might want to hold off on this product. I love it – but some people might not.

You know how much I hate wrapping gifts! So I mentioned that I was going to hit the dollar store and pick up several of their one dollar gift bags because it is so easy to simply wrap the present in tissue paper and dump it into the bag versus all of the cutting, folding and taping with traditional gift wrap.

My son”s girlfriend nodded and said, “And they are reuseable, so that’s better for the environment!” Shazaam! I hadn’t even gone down that road, but she’s right! All of the gift wrap that we use each year is a one time use thing. Whereas the gift bags can be used over and over again. My sister-in-law and I had a gift bag that we jokingly used about six different times.

So using gift bags is faster, easier, cheaper and good for the environment. Just pack those babies away and use them over and over again. Less waste!
