In the Prince's Arms - Excerpt

Al-Sintra Family

Suddenly, something hard hit her from behind and she closed her eyes, waiting for the pain.  But there was no pain. Only a mild thud as strong arms wrapped around her.

When she opened her eyes, it was to find only the white dress shirt and dark jacket of…?  Before she even lifted her eyes up, Natalie knew that the arms wrapped around her were Rylan’s.  Sure enough, his dark eyes were staring down at her.  In the dim light of the parking garage, there was no difference between the chocolate brown of his irises and the pupil of his eyes.  The yellow flecks were gone.  Or she just couldn’t see them.  Either way, her heart, already taxed by the scare of someone trying to run her over, sped up, but in a different way now.

Her eyes, staring into his eyes, moved to his lips.  For some reason, Natalie just knew that she would die in a dramatic puff of smoke if he didn’t kiss her.  Right now.  Right this moment.  Was it just a life affirming need to be connected?  Or was this moment a culmination of the simmering heat that had been bubbling between them over the past few days?

Either way, she reached up, her fingertips sliding over his cheek, trembling at the sensation of his rough stubble tickling.  It wasn’t enough.  Her fingertips explored, but Natalie’s hand moved, cupping his jaw as she explored, holding her breath as she discovered these new and most-likely adrenaline inspired sensations.

Their breaths mingled and she felt his arms shift, changing from safety to something that was absolutely different.  His big hands moved over her back.  No longer were they protecting her.  Now they were moving her closer, changing the alignment of her body against his.  Natalie gasped when she felt that erection pressing against her stomach, but before she could react, his mouth was over hers.
