The issue with The Lottery Winners numbering is that there were only four books originally to the series. Daisy, Ivy, Marilee and Tony. But I loved their stories so much, that I just kept adding new books to the series. Scarlett is in her 80s during the four main books – but I decided that she needed her own story. So I wrote, Hoping for Forever. Then when I was editing Marilee’s story, I knew that Emerson needed a deputy that was just as tough and strong as he was – hence, Mark’s story emerged (and his story has the best opening scenes I’ve ever written!). While editing Tony’s story, I kept thinking about Jane – and how could she have her own story. Originally, Jane was an older woman. But as I thought about her, she de-aged (unaged? Got younger.) And then I just had to create her story. So Surrender happened. Surrender is being sent out to subscribers over the course of the series but will be up for sale on all of the retails sites at the end. And then my friend Liz Scott (another romance author) asked me how they won the lottery – so I wrote the introduction. That was only supposed to be about 1-2k words but ended up being almost 30k.
So what was originally a four book story is now an 8 book story. And I’ve confused everyone! I promise, it will be worth it in the end. The stories all make sense and mesh – at least in my mind and hopefully in everyone else’s as well.
I know it is confusing, but I hope you enjoy all of the stories. 🙂
